Years ago, I joined a Toastmasters group to polish my presentation skills. My group met before work once a week before at the ungodly hour of 6:45 a.m. While the time was not convenient to sleeping in, it was convenient to squeezing in presentation practice before your workday really began.
We were always looking for new members and relied heavily on referrals from people searching on the parent organization’s website. So, to help increase our marketing efforts, I wrote and designed a poster campaign. It was important to emphasize the early meeting time so the campaign put a positive spin on it. Our members then distributed them to book stores, coffee shops, grocery stores and anywhere that would allow us to hang them.
The posters had the positive effect of helping us bring in new members while also bolstering club morale.
